Product Overview
GRP Cable Trays are non-metallic cable support systems manufactured from glass-fiber reinforced thermoset resin via pultrusion. Designed to replace traditional steel trays, they offer permanent corrosion resistance in environments exposed to moisture, salt spray, acids, and harsh industrial chemicals. Because protection is inherent throughout the composite material, GRP Cable Trays require no protective coatings or ongoing paint maintenance over their service life.
Key Features
Corrosion-Proof Composite: Will not rust, pit, or degrade when exposed to chlorides, caustic solutions, or outdoor weathering.
Continuous Pultruded Profile: High glass fiber content (55–60% by weight) gives it high structural strength and strong resistance to bending.
Non-Conductive & Safe: High electrical insulation eliminates stray currents, grounding requirements on the tray body, and galvanic corrosion when mounted on steel supports.
Lightweight & Easy to Install: At roughly one-third the weight of steel, lengths can be easily handled by a single technician and cut on-site using standard tools.
UV & Flame Retardant: Formulated with UV inhibitors and flame-retardant additives throughout the resin matrix to ensure self-extinguishing performance and long-term UV stability.
Mechanically Locked Rungs: Square hollow tube rungs (25 × 25 mm) are locked and bonded to the side rails without drilling through structural flanges, preserving rail integrity.

Products Applications
Chemical & Petrochemical
Acid handling lines, caustic washdown zones, and vapor exposure areas where steel rapidly corrodes.
Offshore & Marine
Weather decks, jetties, and desalination facilities subject to continuous salt spray.
Wastewater Treatment
High-humidity environments exposed to hydrogen sulfide and atmospheric acids.
Substations & Power Tunnels
Enclosed, hard-to-reach cable routes requiring non-conductive and maintenance-free support.
FAQ
Q: How do I choose between Isophthalic Polyester and Vinyl Ester resins?
A: Isophthalic polyester is the standard choice for general outdoor, coastal, and wastewater environments. Vinyl ester is recommended for extreme chemical environments involving high concentrations of strong acids, alkalis, or organic solvents.
Q: How is electrical earthing handled with GRP Cable Trays?
A: Since the tray body is non-conductive, it cannot carry fault currents and does not require grounding. Earth continuity is provided by running a separate earth conductor alongside the cables according to site electrical engineering standards.
Q: Can GRP Cable Trays be easily cut and modified on-site during installation?
A: Yes, GRP Cable Trays can be easily cut and drilled using standard woodworking tools. Because the material is lightweight (roughly one-third the weight of steel), a single technician can handle and position straight lengths without heavy lifting equipment. During installation, every cut end must be sealed with resin, and straight runs come pre-drilled for quick assembly with coupler plates and stainless steel fasteners.
