Cable trays can be classified into several types based on their structure, material, and application. Firstly, according to structure, they are mainly divided into trough-type cable trays, tray-type cable trays, ladder-type cable trays, and combined cable trays. Trough-type cable trays are fully enclosed and suitable for laying computer cables, communication cables, etc., effectively shielding against electromagnetic interference. Tray-type cable trays have holes at the bottom, providing good heat dissipation and are suitable for laying power cables and control cables. Ladder-type cable trays have a simple structure and good ventilation and heat dissipation, often used for laying long-span cables. Combined cable trays combine the features of the previous types and can be flexibly combined according to actual needs. Secondly, according to material, cable trays are mainly made of steel, aluminum alloy, fiberglass, and stainless steel. Steel cable trays are high in strength and low in cost, but prone to corrosion and require anti-corrosion treatment. Aluminum alloy cable trays are lightweight and corrosion-resistant, suitable for corrosive environments such as chemical and petroleum industries. Fiberglass cable trays are corrosion-resistant and have good insulation properties, but lower strength, making them suitable for humid and highly corrosive locations. Stainless steel cable trays are corrosion-resistant and high in strength, but more expensive, suitable for locations with extremely high corrosion resistance requirements. In addition, there are some special-purpose cable trays, such as fireproof cable trays, made of fire-resistant materials, which can maintain structural integrity for a certain period during a fire, providing protection for cables; and explosion-proof cable trays, suitable for flammable and explosive locations, effectively preventing damage to cables from blast waves. When selecting cable trays, factors such as cable type, quantity, laying environment, and cost must be considered comprehensively. For example, in corrosive environments, aluminum alloy or fiberglass cable trays should be preferred; in locations requiring fire protection, fireproof cable trays should be selected. At the same time, factors such as the load-bearing capacity, installation method, and ease of maintenance of the cable trays should also be considered to ensure safe and reliable operation.
