Simple Checks Before Installing Cable Tray Fittings

Cable tray fittings look small compared with long straight sections, but they decide whether the full route is easy to install. Before installation, workers should check the size of each elbow, tee, cross, reducer, and connector plate. The width and height should match the straight tray. If a fitting is forced into place, the joint may not be flat, and the cable may rub against uneven edges during pulling. It is also useful to lay out the main route on the floor or mark it clearly on the wall before lifting parts into position.

Support points should be arranged near bends and branch fittings, not only under straight sections. A cable branch area carries cable from more than one direction, so it needs stable fixing. Bolts should be tightened evenly, and sharp burrs should be removed before cable is placed inside the tray. If a cover is required, the cover direction and fixing method should be checked at the same time. These small checks can save a lot of time later, because they reduce rework, keep the cable route neat, and make future inspection much easier.
